On the road with Henry Wagons

Fresh off the plane from five weeks touring North America on the back of his new solo album ‘After What I Did Last Night…’, Henry’s fingers are nimble, his voice is limber and his memory bank is full of many new stories of big skies and the open road. Hauntings, sleepwalking, crippling early mornings and hazy late nights.

Following his barnstorming launch tour of the Australian capitals earlier in the year, Henry will finish off 2016 by venturing further afield with a series of full band festival appearances and solo shows in Australia and NZ this September, October and November. These shows will provide a rare insight into a perfectly road hardened, world widened Australian songwriter at his utmost prime.

Joining Henry for the Australian jaunt will be the Golden Guitar wielding, all round charmer and talented songsmith in his own right, Lachlan Bryan.

Like his fellow Melbourne, Australia native Nick Cave, Henry Wagons understands how to evoke the dark heart of Americana better than most U.S.-born country musicians these days it seems. So when it came time for him to break away from his longtime band Wagons and venture into solo territory, the decision to record his excellent new full-length, After What I Did Last Night…in Nashville was indeed a natural one.PASTE Magazine
